The natural site of Les Plâtes in Alpe d'Huez is the perfect place for an introduction to climbing this summer: an exciting experience in the heart of the mountains!
Located near Besson lake in a preserved, natural environment, Les Plâtes is a great place for your first climbing experience. This initiation cliff offers a wide variety of climbing styles; you can make the most of your experience on gneiss type rock, known for its optimal friction properties.
The site is easily accessed by car, which means you can get from Alpe d’Huez to the bottom of the cliff in just a few minutes. At the site itself, you will discover an untamed, preserved environment that is ideal for learning to climb. This all-round sport demands physical abilities including strength, flexibility, balance and coordination, and it boosts self-confidence too. Best of all, you do not need any particular skills: anyone can climb !

Trainers or climbing shoes (available to rent from “La Montagne Sport” shop in Bourg d'Oisans) + trousers + wind breaker or fleece + back pack with water bottle (at least 1l/person) + cereal bar or similar snack + sun cream.
