Tubing at Alpe d’Huez: an activity for the whole family

Alpe d’Huez is a very popular destination for families. Whilst it welcomes enthusiasts of ski touring, downhill skiing and snowboarding during the winter holidays, it becomes an exceptional, multifaceted playground during the summer.

As well as family walks, you can, for example, have a go at tubing at Alpe d’Huez. This ride down a giant inflatable tube, available from 4 euros, lets you challenge your friends and family to a wild race down a specially prepared and secure slope. Increasingly popular at the resort, tubing is one of the best family activities in Alpe d’Huez.

Rail sledging: 1 km of thrills on the slopes of Alpe d’Huez

For a change of pace, other modern attractions have opened in Alpe d’Huez, such as the toboggan run, which is open to children aged 3 and over. From December to April, and again in July and August, you can easily book your ride, from 7 euros.

Rail sledging at Alpe d’Huez also offers: exceptional views, 1 km of pure fun at the heart of the ski area, a VR experience, and thrills (acceleration, jumps, etc.). Up to two people can ride on the same toboggan. Children under 1.35 m tall can therefore be accompanied by an adult and share this fun family experience.

The airbag: a thrilling leap for young and old alike

As well as accessible hikes, rail sleding and tubing, you can also try out the airbag at Alpe d’Huez. Among our various mountain sports activities, this one is exclusively for adults and children aged 8 and over.

What exactly is the airbag? Set up at the top of the Rif Nel run at Alpe d’Huez, this fun experience involves… jumping into a giant airbag! Open from 10am to 4pm, this activity costs from €4 per jump, €10 for three jumps and €15 for five jumps.

Unlike the other outdoor activities listed above, the airbag can be booked directly on site. As for the toboggan run and tubing, please note that you can very easily book and pay for your sessions via our official Alpe d’Huez marketplace or on site.
